Tonbridge Lions Club Community Fête and Parade 2025
Sunday 1st June at Tonbridge Castle

This year, there will be a Parade of Literary Characters:
"Read All About It"
and
an attempt to beat the world record for the number of people wearing Odd Socks!

Tonbridge Lions Club invites you to dress as your favourite literary character / characters and join our Parade!

We need schools / students (all ages from nursery to college), youth groups (Beavers to Explorers, Rainbows to Rangers, Boys & Girls Brigades, Air, Sea, Army & Police Cadets), Community Groups, Special Needs Groups, Charities, Local Businesses, etc…

Groups are encouraged but we would also welcome individuals. Schools and youth groups are asked to advise parents / guardians of individual participation and they can accompany any child or vulnerable person.

Dress in your costume, act the part of your character and join the parade from River Walk, over Big Bridge, along Castle Walk and up on to the Castle Lawn. You will parade behind a Band and there will be prizes for best individual costumes and groups.

On the day there will be the usual selection of stalls, games and arena entertainment. The “Musical Memories” choir will be among the groups entertaining.

This year there will also be an attempt at a WORLD RECORD:

The greatest number of people to assemble in one place all wearing “ODD SOCKS”

The current record is 933 - we believe that at least 1000 is achievable

We invite everyone to join us in this attempt and ask every participant to donate a minimum of £1

The significance of “ODD SOCKS” is to raise awareness of those living with Downs Syndrome

To advise us of your interest and receive further information please email Lion Lofty Bunyon at kbunyon@icloud.com
