"It's a Knockout" 2025
Over 100 competitors take part annually in June, in the ‘It’s a Knockout’ sports day, at the Tonbridge Angel Centre. This year, the event will take place on Friday, 20th June.
Having been organised every year since the early 1990’s by Tonbridge Lions, the event enables dozens of mentally and physically disabled adults to enjoy a fun games day, including a lunch with the Lions helpers.
Over one hundred competitors (some in wheelchairs) form about a dozen teams, from many organisations around the local area, competing in games that included egg and spoon races; velcro darts; and other reasonably tough but exciting disciplines.
The teams are invited to design and present ‘jokers’ to be used in one of the games. The best jokers (in 2024 it was "Blooming Carnations", by Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Community Services) are judged by the Mayor, and the president of Tonbridge Lions, who present a trophy for the overall event winner.
Tonbridge Lions would welcome any establishment, who feel that they meet the criteria; to join them at the event in 2025 on June 20th. More details can be obtained by emailing this address: info@tonbridgelions.org
