Community Shield presented at Tonbridge Grammar School

Recently VP Lion Phil Jesson presented the Lions Community Shield to Edie Gardner of Tonbridge Grammar School.

Edie was nominated for the award by TGS staff for her work as one of the founder members in the Meadow Project Team at the school. TGS have allocated a site for re-wilding which includes the planting of wild flower species together with the ‘scrape’, a pond area that never dries up and contains insects, amphibians and water plants. At the presentation Mr Darryl Barker, Assistant Head Teacher, Teacher of Biology explained how the Meadow and Mindfulness areas will not only benefit TGS students but also the wider Tonbridge community in future.

Our thanks go to Pippa Blackstone, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at TGS for arranging the presentation of the shield to Edie which could not be done at the Celebration and Awards event on 3rd January.
