More than 1,700 runners took to the streets on Sunday, 5th October for the annual
Run Kent Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K road races, enjoying a breezy but dry autumn morning that provided ideal running conditions for participants and spectators alike.
Organised by RunThrough with the invaluable support of the Tonbridge Lions and Rotary Clubs, the event once again brought the community together in an inspiring celebration of fitness, teamwork and generosity, raising thousands of pounds for local charities.
The event attracted runners of all ages and abilities, from first-timers tackling the 5K to seasoned athletes taking on the half marathon challenge. Along the scenic Kent course from south Tonbridge to Leigh, over 70 volunteers lined the route to ensure safety and cheer on every participant.
Now in its fourteenth year, this event is a popular perennial with the runners and we’re delighted to see a record turnout this year and are grateful to everyone who made it possible, especially our volunteers and partner organisations who brought energy and encouragement every step of the way.
The route showcased some of Kent’s most picturesque countryside, with local residents turning out in numbers to lend their voices to the chorus of encouragement.
Thanks to sponsors, local partners, and the Kent community for helping make the day such a success. Planning is already underway for next year’s Run Kent event, which promises to be even bigger and better.
