Tonbridge Lions Celebrate a Successful Changeover Lunch in Leigh

Tonbridge Lions gathered at the end of June for a successful and enjoyable Changeover Lunch at the Plough Pub and Restaurant in Leigh — the annual occasion where the Club formally passes leadership from one President to the next.

During the event, outgoing President Lion Phil Jesson officially handed over the Chain of Office to incoming President Lion Richard Hill, marking the start of a new Lions year and fresh responsibilities for the team. Flowers were presented to Jo Jesson and Julie Hill in recognition of their valued support throughout the year.

Lions, partners, Lions Ladies and Friends of Lions enjoyed a relaxed two‑course, table‑service meal with tea and coffee. The Club was delighted to welcome its Honorary Lion, Dame Kelly Holmes, who attended with her father and joined in the celebrations.

Short speeches reflected on the many events delivered over the past year, expressing thanks to all who contributed their time and energy, and looking ahead with enthusiasm to another successful year in 2026–2027.

Blessed with fine weather, members were able to enjoy the Plough’s extensive facilities after the formalities — a fitting end to a warm and uplifting afternoon of fellowship.

What's this then?
What's this then?
Put 'em up!
Put 'em up!
