Tonbridge Lions Club Community Fete 2021

Tonbridge Lions Club held a Community Fete on Sunday September 12th, with the support of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council.

It has been a very challenging period for everyone over the last eighteen months. During this time Lions have had to cancel the annual Carnival twice, so they felt it important for the Tonbridge Community to have some fun at last.

On the castle lawn the crowds were entertained throughout the afternoon by a variety of performers including the 17th Tonbridge Scout & Guide Band, Ukes on the Hill, Cannon Holt School of Irish Dancing, CC Dance Academy, family entertainer Niki Naki Noo and children’s entertainer Dainty Sue. The crowds also enjoyed a variety of stalls from tombola’s and traditional sideshows to stalls selling teas, cakes, books and toys with a number of activities for children in the ‘Kiddies Corner’.

Phil Jesson Chairman of the Organising Committee said “We are very pleased with the way the day went. It was a challenge to put this event on in such a short space of time but with the support of all concerned including the Tonbridge Community, the day was great success”.

Tonbridge Lions Club would like to thank everyone for their help especially Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council and the Tonbridge Air Cadets.
