Annual Fete a Roaring Success at New Venue

The Tonbridge Lions Club Community Fete, held at Tonbridge School for the first time, on Sunday 26^th July 2026, was a great success. The fete was attended by over 800 people, including many local children and their families. The theme of the Fete was ‘Sport for All’ and began with a Parade from River Walk, up the High Street to Tonbridge School featuring among others, footballers, and cheerleaders, with a Fire Engine and the Samba Band, Bloco Fogo leading the way!

Arena events included performances from theTonbridge Soul Choir, AMC Dance, family entertainer Niki Naki Noo,Songs from the Shows withCollete Redgrave and the legendary Lions Gutter Game! There were over 30 stalls with local businesses and organisations selling an array of goods and produce and providing an opportunity to try new activities and experiences. Many traditional stalls andold favourites could also be found among the Tonbridge Lions stalls, including Kiddies Corner, Tin Can Alley, a Children’s Tombola, Coconut Shy and many more….

The event was attended by The Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Councillor Kim Tanner,and Consort Jeff,who judged and awarded prizes to the best group and individual in the Parade. The Mayor and Consort were also treated to a cream tea, hosted by Tonbridge Lions President Richard Hill and his wife Julie, in the Fete Café which served excellent hot and cold drinks, cakes and savouries throughout the afternoon.

As we all know, Lions events do not just happen.  A huge thank you to all those Lions, Lions Ladies and Friends of Lions who worked tirelessly before, during and after the event to make the Tonbridge Lions Club Community Fete so enjoyable, successful and a day to make the whole community proud.
